Action recap: float parade
Over the Golden Days Parade weekend, we got to be part of a rad group of folks who organized a floating parade to show that there are many Alaskans who believe Alaska's future is not based on harmful extraction.
Participants on various kinds of watercraft floated through town, accompanied by local musicians on a handmade raft, holding banners reading “ No AK LNG.” At several locations, we were met by land compatriots for banner drops reading “Alaska is not for sale” and “no Glenfarne Tax Breaks.”
With the legislature going into a third special session for an AK LNG pipeline that is not aligned with Alaskan's best interests, we wanted to come together - in joy and celebration for the lands that we love, as well as a sense of fierce protection of what is being threatened.
